Protein Loss During Fasting is a Myth
Protein loss during fasting is a fear to some people. They believe that it is harmful and that a fast should be supplemented with protein. I have tried whey and soy protein powders and shakes, yeast, and all of them clog the sinuses and greatly slow the detoxification. Only, raw egg white and spirulina do not have that effect.

The Fact Behind Protein Balance During Fasting
Your body has sufficient protein reserves for a 30-day water fast or longer. Fasting is a natural process. It is designed to fast. You never hear of people diagnosed with protein deficiency. Yet people fear it and they are staring at the kids in Africa & point to their bloated bellies as proof which is foolish, because this is actually caused by calorie and nutrition deficiency. Spirulina is excellent during a fast, which is over 50% protein, and will benefit the fast or egg whites mixed with the veggie juice.

    Hi ! I’m sooo glad I found this site ! I’m 5’4″ and last month I weighed 270. Today begins my 22nd day of water & juice fasting while working f/t at a hospital. My job involves alot of walking to do electrocardiograms. Yesterday I weighed in at 250 pounds. I’m using cantaloupe juice and I feel terrific. Can I safely go for 40, 50, or even 60 days on this ? And still successfully re-awaken my digestive system ? If I continue through 40, how long should I resume eating before beginning again, till I’m no longer overweight ?

      Hi sistersandy
      On a juice fast you can just keep going till you are at the weight you want. I heard a guy did 3 years on a juice fast and I did 3 fasts over 30 day in a summer. So I believe you could live on cantaloupe juice. There are some reports stating it has the highest nutrition per calories of all fruits.
