Emma Hamilton, 22 years old Female, weighing 80 kg / 176 lbs, 63 in /160.02 cm tall, Buddhist - Theravada. From Glasgow, United Kingdom
Doing 14 days of Water Fasting. Starting November 4, 2010
Reasons for Fasting:
Since having my daughter I've suffered from Puerperal Psychosis. I've tried different kinds of medication and treatment to no avail so I've decided to fast for 14 days to help with my depression. I would also like to achieve some weight loss and I hope to gain better eating habits.Past Fasting Experience:
I've attempted fasting in the past, but I have never stuck to it. I have high hopes this time around.Present Diet:
Not very good, but hopefully that will improve.Present Medical Problems:
Puerperal Pyschosis.State of Mind:
Anxious, but hopeful.Limitations:
I'm worried about the lack of energy, possible dizzyness and fatigue with having my daughter aroundQuestions:
I would also like it if anyone wanted to fast together, a means of helping to keep each other motivated (:
I wish you luck with your goals. I am on my first fast (32 hours so far) and things are going smoothly. From the information I’ve been gathering, I think the best way to be successful is to have a plan. If you find that you can’t continue with the fast because of the detox symptoms, don’t jump back to bad old habits. Maybe try juice instead, or raw. Above all, don’t forget, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!
Good luck!
Thank you (:
It’s good to be in a place where other people understand and can help you through the difficult times when you feel like going back to your old ways. I think that’s part of the reason I’ve failed before, the lack of support and people judging.
I wish you all the best
Day 1:
It’s only 08:48 so there has been no struggles as of yet. Around noon is normally when I start to feel hungry and crave sugar.
I’m feeling very anxious, like I’ve failed already, but i know that’s just the way my mind is. It puts everything down before I have even started.
The hardest part for me is going to be giving up on the fizzy juice. There is practically a bottle in everyroom in the house, but I am very determined to do this.
Wish me luck!
hi,
why not try a juice fast as it is much easier to control blood sugar levels and therefore cravings, also an enema will reduce cravings and remove toxins along with dry skin brushing, regards Noor
Thanks Noor.
That’s a very interesting point. I think I may do a juice fast starting tomorrow, although, I’ll see how things go with my water fast.
Best wishes,
Emma
Day 2:
I’m finding it very hard today. My mood is very low and my depression seems worse thatn usual, so I think that is partly down to it. I’ve already had a slip up. But, i’m not going to beat myself up about it. I’m jumping back on that wagon.
I’m feeling awfully tired, sore and grumpy in general. I’ve also had the worst headache all day. In a couple of hours my daughter goes to bed so I’ll take that time to try and sleep.
Lets hope tomorrow brings a better day.
