    Hi Henry,
You should have healthy plasma with all that nutrition. If they accept it then it is good. You will have to be cautious for black outs for a few hours after giving blood. Get up slowly.

Thanks Tom, this site has really helped a lot. I decided to start a fast yesterday and started to search the internet trying to locate if I’d still be able to donate plasma while fasting… and your site popped up in the results. Little did I know I hit a jackpot when it came to all kinds of info regarding fasting. My biggest concern was if my protein levels would be too low to donate plasma. In the end, I won’t let it stop me from fasting(even though the little amount of cash I get from it is literally used to buy my family food) as I have felt a strong conviction to fast recently due to a bunch of things stressing me and my family out lately. God has done miraculous things in my family’s past when it came to fasting… just looking soley to Him for some guidance and for another miracle or two if He chooses to work some into my life ;)

Thanks again for this great website full of knowledge!

Progress Update: So far so good! Usually the first day isn’t too hard for me. I’ve done a few 3 and 4 day fasts and a 7 day fast, so I know I can ignore the hunger pains. They actually haven’t been too bad, except this morning my stomach is screaming “FEEEEEED MEEEEE”. Yesterday I didn’t really feel hungry at all. Usually my 2nd and 3rd day is the worst when it comes to hunger pain. After that I don’t really feel very hungry, but the thought of tasting food is always on my mind… and I LOVE the taste of food. Although I’m hoping it won’t be as bad this time around because my wife has been on a somewhat strict diet for 3 1/2 months now to help lower some internal inflamation that she has and we haven’t been able to eat anything too “exciting”(like pizza..mmmm, stuffed crust meat lovers from Pizza Hut). *ANYWAY*, lol…

My wife and I started reading our Bibles together a few months back before we go to sleep. I’ve read the gospels all the way through a few times, but this time through something caught my eye that I hadn’t really noticed or thought about before. Matt. 6:16-18. I’m really trying to take this verse to heart. In the past I never proclaimed “Hey, look at me, I’m fasting”, but when someone found out that I was fasting, like my coworkers for instance, I didn’t really hide the fact that I was hungry and wanted to eat all these different foods and such. This time if/when they or others find out, I’m not going to make it even a little bit of a deal and am going to pass it off just as some normal daily activity that I’m doing. It’s not that it’s a big deal, it really is, but as verse 18 says, I want my reward from God, and right now I’m at a breaking point and really need HIS help.

Anyway, I need to stop babbling I guess. I’m just thankful that I discovered this website and the ability to post reports and such, I think it’ll help me stick to this fast and remain strong.
