Bentonite Clay and Fasting
Bentonite clay I far as I can see would have benefits during fasting. I gleaned this info from Http://healingdaily.com
Bentonite clay – used by indigenous tribes and animals for centuries
Clay is one of the most effective natural intestinal detoxifying agents available to us and has been used for hundreds of years by native tribes around the globe.
Primitive tribes have traditionally used various types of clay for conditions of toxicity. Dr. Weston A. Price in his book, “Nutrition and Physical Degeneration (1), stated that in studying the diets of native tribes he examined their knapsacks. Among the tribes examined in the high Andes, in Central Africa and the Aborigines of Australia, Dr. Price reported that some knapsacks contained balls of volcanic ash clay, a little of which was dissolved in water. Pieces of food were then dipped into the clay.
Animals in the wild, drawn to clay deposits by instinct, have been observed licking the clay as part of their everyday diet as well as rolling in it to get relief from injuries.
If you are an enthusiast of this treatment please share with us your experience.
I” could see bentonit clay having its uses for cleaning out the bowel, but remember, bentonite clay has aluminum in it, another bad toxin. Some people say the aluminum isn’t absorbed from clay. I’d say some is probably absorbed. So consider the risk.

I use Bentonite clay, psyllium husk and flax seeds (ground) once a day to help cleanse the colon. I mix about 1/3 of each. Put a few tablespoons in an empty jar, add water, shake and drink real quickly.
Whatever you do, don’t do this while on a water fast. I did and my bowels, which were pretty much shut down, would not pass it. After abut 50 hours of waiting I was forced to use enemas to make it pass. During a juice fast or normal eating this should work fine and draw out free radicals, toxins, and any other nasty things stuck in your digestive track. I reccomend 1tbsp liquid bentonite clay with 1 heaping tsp of psyllium husk mixed in 8 oz of cold water once or twice a day for 3 days. Remember to drink it fast cause the psyllium husk congeals into a gel quicky and can cause a gagg reflex.
Hi, on this topic….what are the cautions on bentonite clay? Are all forms ok to use internally? Last time I bought some I was assured it could be used internally. I just bought some again but it says external use only. anyone know?
