Hi there. I’m a 26 year old male excited to embark on my first fasting experience. I’m curious about the best approach. Several of my friends suggested the lemon/honey water fast for 10 days, and moving to a juice fast if it is too much to endure after a few days. I’m in relatively good health, but am about 50 pounds overweight and have very recently quit smoking. I’m hoping the fast will help detoxify my body and help me feel more motivated to continue developing a healthier lifestyle. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thank you!

Yes the lemon/honey water fast for 10 days is a good fast. Having a juicer is a must for superior health and a good investment. I prefer juice fasting but that is my choice.

I am now 3 days into my raw food diet, I just completed my juicing fast I have had a total of 4 passes from my juice fast to now. When I first began my juice fast after my water fast I had one pass the day after but I was also constipated. The second pass which was a day later was constipated also but I got over it. My third and fourth passes were fine, they came a day after the other. Since then I haven’t had a pass yet (2days). Is this normal to pass once a day sometimes skipping days while detoxing?
Hi Keisha, Don’t worry about it. Your body will eliminate when ready. You can try enemas every 2 or 3 days if you’d like, to clean out toxins and to have peace of mind. Ron
Thank you Ron, but I’m not comfortable with enemas. Is there any other natural alternative for a cleanser? Types of food or juice? The thought had crossed my mind that my body is working at is own pace, but I want to have a thorough clean out before I start eating cooked food again come Sunday.
Hi Keisha, Senna tea works nicely! Don’t over-use it though. Once every 2-3 days during your fast is enough. Also, the intensity is governed by the amount of time you steep the bag. I usually steep for 6-8 minutes. My wife steeps for under 5 minutes and gets the same effect that I get (a bowel movement in a few hours). Experiment.Keep in mind this is not a deep intestine cleanse.
As I stated earlier, if your diet was very bad for the last several years you need more. There are oral cleanses for the intestines that involve a 30+ day regiment of minerals like clay and charcoal in capsules. A restrictive diet is required during the cleanse. This cleanse is also good for parasite elimination. You can search online to find it.
