    Hi David,
Not have to work is great if you want to fast. How are you doing with the cigarettes. Most people report that the craving and pleasure of smoking reduces on a fast enough to quit. Glad to have you with us at fasting.ws.

Still smoking as of Sunday. Will try to quit tomorrow. Had an easy time getting passed Mothers Day dinner with my family. I even did most of the cooking. While everyone was eating, I stayed busy cleaning up and doing some dishes. The chocolate cake for dessert looked great but I did not have trouble passing it up. Made a large glass of carrot juice after everyone finished eating and I was satisfied.

Finishing up day 6. Not too many problems-few hunger pangs but they didnt last too long. Still smoking. Anyone ever juice tomatoes? Have a couple but am reluctant to try.

          Hi David,
Tomatoes make excellent juice and taste very different fresh. Green and ripe are both good. For a treat you can heat it up and add some spice and it is like soup. Feels like cheating but you are still juicing.

Day 7 is coming to an end and still going strong. Walked about 6 miles today without much trouble. Wasn’t a big fan of tomato juice but will try heated. What kind of spices can I use and won’t it be working against detoxification? Funny I worry about spices but continue to smoke. How often can you give yourself an enema during a juice fast without negative effects?

            • Tom Coghill says:

The maximum results of enema are obtained by using it once per day. I love a slash of hot sauce and worstershire sauce for a hot juice mix. Many spices will benefit the detox. Ginger, garlic, coriander, dulse, to name a few. Wow six miles, that is a hike.

Well, I made it 11 days and ended up breaking my fast last night. I don’t know why I did, wasn’t even that hungry. Had some oatmeal and a peanut butter sandwich. Thinking about eating some fruits and veggies today and starting another fast tomorrow for 10 days.

                  Hi David,
You can going for feeling great and tingly alive to dull and numb after eating white starch after a long fast. How did you feel after eating that.

                  • David T says:

I ate at about 9pm and had a little bit more energy. I took my time eating and was able to taste the different flavors of the food. I did feel dull and numb later on, but I don’t know if that was the foods reaction with my body or because I was disappointed I quit my fast.

                      Hi David,
Eating badly after a fast can trigger depression. I can be powerful and it is intensified by going from a high of fasting to a sluggy foggy bad tasting low. This is where a person need that fill your mind, with anything noble, peace loving, hopeful which was said much better by a dude called Paul.

                      Day 1,
Starting a new fast because I felt that I cheated myself earlier in the month due to my smoking of cigarettes and herb. So far no smoking and no eating. Starting weight is 181 lbs and I need to be careful not to lose too much weight. I have a question about green tea. Does it matter if the green tea has flavors or should I just get plain?

Finishing up on day 2. Sticking with water for another day or 2 and then going to switch to juice. Feel good about not smoking. All day today hunger was replaced with jonesing for cigarettes. Stayed busy, went for a nice walk and hung out by the beach. Went too a couple coffee shops throughout the day for some green tea. My friend is just finishing up on a day 10 master cleanse. Haven’t really seen anything about the master cleanse and was wondering if you have any information about it. Thanks Tom

    Starting Day 5.
Haven’t smoked either so I feel twice as good about things. Still waiting for some sort of withdrawl from nicotine. Staying busy going on walks. Tried cantaloupe juice for the 1st time yesterday. Was good but grapefruit is still my favorite. Haven’t been sleeping well. Maybe because the full moon. Everything else is going well.

Finishing up day 10. Have a ton of energy early but it fades around 6 pm at night. Hunger pangs were rough today but I made it through. Constantly cold, good thing I live in Los Angeles. Still smoke free.
