Erin Smith, Fasting Support, Overeating, Alergies, Asthma

I am 25 years old. I want to detox my body. I am addicted to food, medically obese, not “a little over weight” and “carrying it well” doesn’t matter. I was on a strict diet when I was young because we couldn’t afford otherwise. I have been overeating/eating unhealthy foods since I went out on my own at 15. I have allergies with slight asthma a multitude of aches and pains and tired all the time. I drink to get drunk 3-4 times a week. I have S.A.D. which has become worse since I moved to Northern Alberta.

I celebrated my birthday yesterday. I don’t want to live another year like this. I need to reboot my body. I need to conquer my obsession with food. I have not been fueling my body, I’ve been fueling fear. I NEED TO STOP!

Are you planning to do a fast? I am feeling a bit blah myself and fasting always helps me to get on track. I am only on day 2, so not feeling the benefits as yet, but usually by day 3 or 4 things start to turn around. I wish you the BEST. I have very little discipline, so I find that it is best to approach it from a spiritual perspective. I do plan to log my progress on this site. So, we’ll see what happens.

    Hi Erin,
Get excited, because juice fasting is truly an amazing and freeing experience. The gains in health will be tremedous. The battle of toxic thinking is a much longer process and can take years. It was for me. The basis for all food obsessions is low-self esteem so rebuilding your mental image back to realiy is important during the fast as much as drinking juice. Remeber this is a lifetime program of living, so take it one day at a time.

A warm welcome to ineedamiricle. I am living a continous miricle and so burns a desire to share it with the others.

    hey there,

Thank-you for the support ineedamiricle. I don’t seem to be getting positive responses at home. My mother is horrified and my room-mate looked at me like I suddenly grew an extra head.

I am determined to start a fast. I set Friday, February 1st as my start date. I want to do a 3-day juice fast first then a water fast. I want to do a 10-day but if I can do more … well we’ll see. I’m a little scared and very excited. I need to strengthen my will power and I think fasting will exercise it very well. I know what I want in life I just always cave on myself. If I can do this I can do anything.

And Tom, this encouragement and forum is exactly what I need. Thank-you doesn’t cover it. Stay tuned to see how I do. By the way I’m not afraid of failure… try, try again! oh, and I don’t have a juicer but I’m going to the grocery store and planning on getting all the pure juice I can find.. we have this new health food section that should have what I need and I can get them to order in things for me. I’m doing a water fast so I won’t be needing a juicer just yet. I am looking into it though. hey do you have any suggestions on what to look for in either case?

If you can, buy fresh made juice that is the best. Expensive but that will work fine. I am fasting now. My girlfriend was in severe pain due to an infection and I fasted to support her. The infection and pain disappeared many days ago and we are still fasting. Day 17 or so. We both feel great.

Oh yea, tell only the people you need to.

I needed this fast as I have traveled 5 countries in the last six months, moved to a new country then worked 16 hours a day to rebuild fasting.ws and other domains with a team of 10 here in the Philippines.

Get excited. I even forgot how good it feels and my last fast was 5 months ago. SOOOOO goood!

Tomorrows the day, I’ve got everything I need. I almost feel like I’m going ski-diving tomorrow… or maybe I’ll say this is how I’d feel if I were going ski diving tomorrow :0)

Today I stated a 3 day water fast with Divine my girlfriend. Planning the next few days in bed and expending minimum energy. I do not like water fasting, but I want a breakthrough and when I water fast and pray my universe changes radically. Also the day I break on fresh juice I feel like a million dollars. Good Luck on you fast Erin.

Hey Erin, I am excited for you! I am on day 5 of a juice fast. So, we can travel this road together for while. I do plan to do a water fast, but this weekend is not going to work. Yeah, the first time I did it my husband thought I was a little crazy, but now he faithfully juice fasts twice a year for 10-14 days each time. I am doing lots of juicing and it has been awesome, but if you can’t juice just get the best pure juices you can find and you’ll still see great results. for me, the best thing about the first fast I did is that afterwards, i had no desire for bad foods. I only wanted fresh and healthy stuff. So, if you feel yourself craving bad foods, keep going for a little longer :) Well, I hope that you are renewed physically, emotionally and spiritually. Fasting is really a great way to get back in tune.

That is one on my main goals.. I want to change my lifestyle and this will be like boosting a car… I need a fresh start! I feel great.. The last time I had solid food was thursday for supper… I’ve just been drinking juice all weekend. It’s kindof weird, I never got hungry really. I didnt drink a whole lot of juice either. The first day I had a headache almost all day but after that I’ve been great. Feeling better then I have in a long time. I feel happier too. I’m going to try to just drink water until Thursday… I have an 20 work day… working both jobs then need to get up at 6 in the am to go back to work. It’s gonna be difficult with no energy.

Hi…. I am 5 ft 7 in and weigh about 210 lbs…. I would like to lose about 50 lbs in the next 2-3 months. I read that juice fasting is great for losing lbs rapidly. Is it really true? Are you guys seeing the results?

Also, I do not have a juicer… can I buy regular juice from store and add water to it? OR does it have to be made by a juicemaker?

Planning to join you guys from next week… and hoping for a miracle…

Great to have you on board newjfguy. You can easily lose that in 2-3 months. No any juicer will work. To me a juicer is one of my most important items. Never complained about money spent on mine. The difference in the quality of the experience and the healing compared to bottled juice is large. We can do a support page to get you inspired.

Erin, One day, yeah congrats!!!! :-)

On day 6… I’m sad to say that I ate something last night… I’m not going to give up though. When I was done I felt sooo guilty.. then my body gave me diahhrea for the rest of the night and the next morning … So that is a good deterent to ever do that again. It’s not that I was hungry, it’s just that I wanted something to eat.
So I went 3 days on juice and 2 days on water then ate something.. now I’m contiuning on water. Is that going to riun everything Tom?

  13. Tom Coghill says:
    Tom Coghill

No that is fine. The diahhrea is a normal bowel reaction after water fasting. The body purges the colon as it does not need to extract every last calorie from the last meal you ate. Watch out for guilt. Ending a fast can by blowing it can cause depression guilt and more over eating. That is why I wrote Eating In Freedom, viewed at http://www.extremefreedom.org
You are doing great Erin. Watch out for food fantasies. You will blow a fast with you fantasy food about 3 days later if you let your mind go with it. Imagine eating fruit salads and healthy foods after the fast and enjoying them and feeling good about yourself.
