Doing 14 days of Water Fasting. Starting July 11, 2011
Reasons for Fasting:
I want to fast for 14 days because I don't like the feeling of being too concerned about food. I don't like to depend on it in order to please myself, especially when there are so many people who are literally starving. I don't like the Western ideas of seeing food as a pleasure and I think a lot of people base their lives too much on food (and therefore waste too much of it!). After all, we eat to live, not live to eat! Not being able to say 'no' to foods that have no nutritional value to human's body is an addiction in my opinion, so I just want to exercise my will to become more aware and get rid of last temptations that I have (after all I am still a human being!)Past Fasting Experience:
I have done two serious fasts before, first one was when I was about 20 years old, it lasted for 14 days and I felt great after it. However, I did not know how to break that fast properly, so sadly I went back to old eating habits. The last one I did was about half a year ago, it lasted for 12 days. It was mentally and physically challenging as I was studying dance at uni and it was my exam time, so I had many rehearsals which required a lot of energy and I found it very hard to find it! However, I did manage 12 days and felt great after that. I lost about 10 kilos I reckon and did not put any of them back at all! Even though I messed up with food a few times (but I exercise a loooot so I guess that helps)Present Diet:
Mostly healthy food but I was eating junk food for the last three days and I feel very guilty about it.Supplements:
Vitamins for skin, hair and nails and vitamin B and Iron supplement (as I had anemia due to not eating meat)
