  • Doing 7 days of Juice/Water Fasting. Starting August 27, 2011

  • Reasons for Fasting:
    Would like to trim down a couple of kilos before a 10k race in a couple of weeks time plus general detox would be good. have done this before a couple of years ago and it did wonders for me lost 10kg aprox by water and juice fasting. Still want to keep up my training so anyone got any tips for fasting while still training? I am planning to take protien.

  • Past Fasting Experience:
    Have not done any for a couple of years, but had alot of success with short water and juce fasts before.

  • Present Diet:
    Good Balanced diet.. few naughty treats here and there :)

  • Supplements:
    None

  • Relevant Medical History:
    Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, General Anxiety Disorder, Mild Depression

  • Present Medication or Drug Usage:
    None

  • State of Mind:
    Stressed and Depressed

    Starting weight 66kg.
    want to lose about 5kg all up. Planning on keeping up with my training for 10k run in a few weeks time. Hi keithmckay101 long time no “see” how you been? Haven’t been on here for over 2 years!

    Hi Sarah, You won’t need the proteins. It’s actually not recommended during a fast. It slows detox and weight loss. If you must, just use a little whey in a juice mix once or twice a week…. Before your workouts.

    There was a group of fasting athletes years ago that fasted exclusively on proteins. I won’t get into the details, but it was very, very bad results.

      Nearly finished day 2 water only pretty tired all day. Was hard work training in the morning but got through it just. Been a chef sucks I’ve spent all day cooking food for everyone but me!

    Day 3, think I’ll have some fresh juice later today before work as feeling very light headed and dizzy.

    Ok halfway though :) Can’t wait for it to be over have allready planned my first meals. But if i feel good after the 7 days are up might go for abit longer….. see how I go. First morning so far have woken up feeling ok so lets hope its a good day.
