I am interested in fasting, but I have lymphedema. For those who don’t know, it is an accumulation of lymph fluid in my leg. The lymph nodes filter waste and toxins from the fluid. I’ve done A LOT of research and found that many say that the have swelling in the legs and feet. I’m nervous that all of the newly released toxins will wreak havoc on my leg, causing it to get larger or harm my system. Have there been any studies about fasting with lymphedema? Or do you know if it will help/harm me?

Hi stargaza1124
Juice fasting always has a beneficial effect on lymphedema. I have seen amazing recovery of lymphedema in 10 days and I have seen a very slow response. The swelling of lymphedema is always reduced.
You best treatment is a juice fast of 30 to 40 days. You do not have to worry about detoxing to fast as you can just drink more juice. You need to have and exercise ball for doing exercises with your feet above the level of your body. You can also rest your legs on it if you are relaxing. I would add vitamin E 1600 IU daily and 4 tablespoons of essential oil. If you can do the shoulder stand a yoga move, it will help relieve pressure. Swimming is the best exercise for lymphedema as it massages the lymph while putting pressure on the skin.
Hello Tom,
I have Lymphatic Stagnation which have left me with swelling in my Left Neck/Back. I have been on a juice fast for 48 days and the swelling is still there. I also have trouble sleeping because of this and have numbness and tingles in my left arm mostly at night. I also have not have a bowel movement in the last 10 to 14 days. I was thinking of coming off my fast to a raw food diet. What do you think?
